If you already have a 7300 (Or the new 7155) Series Power Center and you only need the lower section because of a failure, lightning strike, accidental 220 Volts, power surge etc, you normally only need the "R" (Replacement) models and not the "RU" (Replacement Upgrade) models.
If you are upgrading from the 6300 series for any reason, you need the 7300RU (Either 45 or 55 Amp model) This unit includes the newer DC fuse board to make your converter a modern filtered DC power center.
Note: Parallax 7155 and 7300 series are single-stage output converters providing a single voltage output of 13.8 VDC to the DC system for load and battery charging.
For a more modern 3-stage upgrade for the 6300 or 7300 series, consider the Ultra III or the PD4600 These units will vary the voltage output depending on the State of Charge of the house batteries for faster charging and will greatly extend their life. The PD4600 will also fit the the new 7155.
